Training Plan

Generalized Training Plan

Training plan is specific based on individual schedule, fitness level and race goal. Generally, to make a training plan the followings should be considered for the whole training cycle. 


1.  Training/Race Goal: To achieve a PB finish time or a specific discipline improvement.


2.  Training Cycles: Based on personal schedule and fitness level to build one integration training cycle or multiple training cycles to focus on specific improvement.


3.  General training cycle examples: 

  • Cycle 1: Fitness foundations, 2-3 months
  • Cycle 2: Specific improvement, i.e. swim or bike, 3 months
  • Cycle 3: Triathlon integration training plan: 3-4 months
  • Generally, 3/3/3 times on swimming/biking/running per week is a good routing to maintain and improve the triathlon fitness, but it can be adjusted based on specific training cycle and individuals.


4.  The factors to complete a training plan.


5.  Dedication/Focus, Execution, Review and monitor the training progress, adjust the plan if needed.


6.  Schedule rest day/week, nutrition, strength training etc. in your training plan.
